AIZO amp settings — Cort Cm15g

The King Gnu guitar tone for “AIZO”, dialed in for a Cort Cm15g with a Cort g250. Studio version, AIZO single (2026) — TV anime Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 opening theme

Original rig

Daiki Tsuneta uses a Fender Telecaster (often Custom Shop '52 or similar) into a Fender Twin Reverb or Deluxe Reverb with various overdrive pedals (Klon Centaur, Tube Screamer variants). The AIZO tone features a tight, mid-forward crunch with bright attack and controlled gain — characteristic of Tsuneta's crunchy rhythm work on King Gnu tracks.

Tight mid-forward crunch with bright pick attack, controlled saturation, and punchy low-mids — modern J-rock rhythm tone with clarity

RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The Cort CM15G is a small practice amp that cannot produce the tight crunch saturation of Tsuneta's tone on its own. A Behringer TO800, Joyo Vintage Overdrive, or Boss SD-1 would get you 80% there for under $30. Run the amp nearly clean and let the pedal provide all the grit.

Why these settings

The Cort CM15G is a basic solid-state practice amp with limited gain staging and a small 8-inch speaker — it cannot replicate the tight tube crunch of Tsuneta's Fender setup without an external overdrive. Gain is set at 7 (near max) to extract what little grit the amp offers, but the tone will remain cleaner and looser than the original. Mid pushed to 7 compensates for the amp's naturally scooped voicing vs the mid-forward Fender/OD stack on the recording. Without an OD pedal, you're hearing a clean-ish tone with pick attack, not true crunch.

PRO TIPTsuneta's attack comes from aggressive downstroke picking near the bridge with the pick angled slightly — this adds the percussive 'chunk' that defines AIZO's rhythm. Palm-mute tightly on the verse riffs and release fully on the open chord stabs for maximum dynamic contrast.
