01Green JRC / TS Overdrive Block
Clean boost in front of the amp block to tighten the low end and sharpen pick attack
02Graphic EQ Block
Post-amp V-curve EQ to replicate the iconic Mesa Mark IV onboard 5-band slider shape
03Digital Delay Block
Post-amp/stereo delay for Petrucci's signature wide lead spread (approx. 400ms quarter note)
To compensate for the lower-output single coils of your 60s Strat compared to Petrucci's high-output DiMarzio humbuckers, amp gain and the TS-style boost level are set slightly higher to achieve saturated compression. The Strat's natural top-end spank is tamed by slightly rolling off the amp's presence and keeping the high treble EQ controlled. For the melodic solo sections, flip seamlessly to the neck pickup with tone on 9 for that liquid, flute-like JP lead response.
