Why these settings

The Cort CM15R is a solid-state practice amp with a brighter, thinner voicing than Mayer's boutique Two-Rock tube amp. Treble is dropped from the original's 6 to 5, and mid is pushed to 7 to add body and warmth the small speaker lacks. Gain stays very low at 2—this tone is about clean headroom and dynamics, not breakup.
