Why these settings

Your American Original 60s Strat has vintage-output single coils versus Murray's hot DiMarzio humbuckers—less output, brighter voicing. Pushed mids to 7 (vs original's 6) to compensate for the thinner single-coil midrange. Dropped treble to 6 (from 7-9) because the Katana's Brown channel plus single coils will get icepick-harsh otherwise. Gain at 6 instead of 7 because the Katana's Brown voice saturates faster than a real JCM800 at stage volume.

PRO TIPThe gallop lives in your picking hand—strict downstroke on the low E pedal tone, alternate picking on the higher triplet bursts. Roll your tone knob to 6-7 during the harmony leads to thicken the single coils closer to Murray's humbucker sustain.
