Why these settings

The Princeton 112 Plus is a Fender-voiced solid-state amp — bright, scooped mids, clean headroom. The original Silver Jubilee is mid-forward and breaks up naturally. To compensate: mids pushed to 8 (vs original 7), treble dropped to 4 (vs original 7), and your distortion pedal provides all the gain since the Princeton won't overdrive. The rolled-down tone knob on your Strat is critical — Slash rolled his Les Paul tone to 0 for this solo, and on a bright single-coil Strat this is even more essential to kill the ice-pick highs.

PRO TIPPick over the neck pickup itself (closer to the fretboard) rather than near the bridge — this physically removes pick attack brightness and adds the warm, vocal sustain that defines this solo. Let notes ring and use slow, controlled vibrato rather than fast shaking.
