Why these settings

Slash used a Les Paul with medium-output Alnico II humbuckers into a cranked non-master-volume Marshall. Your Strat's single coils are brighter and lower output, so mid is pushed to 8 (vs original 8.5) to compensate for the Strat's natural scoop, treble dropped to 6 (vs original 7) to tame single-coil ice-pick, and bass cut to 4 to keep the low end tight since single coils can get flubby with gain. Select the JCM800 or British 800 model on the MG-300 for the mid-forward bark.

PRO TIPSlash's clean-to-crunch dynamic in the middle section comes from rolling the guitar volume knob to 4-5 — practice this transition rather than switching patches, as his low-output pickups and non-master-volume amp made this natural. Your Strat will clean up even more dramatically due to lower output.
