Why these settings

The Cort CM15R is a 15W practice amp with only Bass, Treble, and Reverb controls (no Mid or Presence knobs on the faceplate). Engaging the onboard Overdrive channel around 6 gives the crunch and sustain of Slash's Marshall while keeping the 8-inch speaker tight. Rolling Treble back to 5 along with your guitar's tone knob simulates Slash's smooth, vocal 'woman tone' and tames the bright solid-state top end.

PRO TIPSlash's signature liquid lead tone comes from selecting the neck humbucker and rolling the guitar tone pot down to around 6; make sure you tune down a half step to Eb standard to play along with the record.
