01Hotone Ampero — Marshall-style amp model (JCM800 or Plexi)

Use as your primary amp model — run the Orange Crush clean (gain 2-3) and use it purely as a power amp/cab, OR run the Ampero direct to PA/headphones bypassing the Orange entirely for tightest response

02Hotone Ampero — Parametric EQ block

Boost 800Hz by +3-4dB to replicate Slash's MXR 10-band mid push — this is the vocal honk that defines his lead tone

800Hz boost 7 · Q 5 · Level 6

03Hotone Ampero — Digital Delay block

300-350ms delay, low mix — adds space and sustain to the solo without washing it out; place after amp block in signal chain

Why these settings

The Orange Crush 35RT is voiced warmer and thicker in the low-mids than a Marshall JCM800, so I dropped bass from the original's 5.5 to 4 and kept mids at 7 to preserve the vocal cut. The Crush lacks a presence knob so that's null — the Ampero's amp model handles high-frequency detail instead. For best results, use the Ampero's Marshall model as your gain source and keep the Orange's dirty channel at moderate gain to avoid double-saturation mud.

PRO TIPSlash rolls his guitar tone knob to 8 on solos for a slightly warmer, less ice-picky attack while keeping the bridge pickup's cut — and he picks hard directly over the bridge pickup pole pieces for that aggressive, singing sustain. Tune to Eb standard to match the original.
