The Twin Reverb is a high-headroom, naturally scooped American clean platform, so mid is pushed high and treble rolled back to mimic the Marshall upper-mid bark. Because the Twin will not deliver high-gain saturation on its own without deafening volumes, volume is set high to drive the preamp as hard as possible today, but a dedicated Marshall-style overdrive pedal is strongly recommended to bridge the remaining crunch gap. With that overdrive pedal added later, drop the Twin's volume to 3 and run the pedal into the clean input as the primary gain stage.
