Why these settings

Your Strat's single coils are brighter and lower-output than Slash's Les Paul humbuckers. The Katana's Brown channel (Marshall-voiced) is the correct starting point. I dropped treble from the original's 6-7 down to 5 and pushed mids up to 7 to compensate for the Strat's natural scoop. The internal Mid Boost compensates for the output difference — without it, the tone will be too thin and glassy. Neck pickup with tone rolled to 6 recreates Slash's 'woman tone' quality.

PRO TIPFor the iconic intro riff, use slow, wide vibrato from the wrist — Slash's vibrato is what makes those notes sing and sustain. Dig in hard with the pick on the initial attack, then let the note bloom.
