Why these settings

The Juarez GA-10 is a basic solid-state practice amp with limited headroom and a brighter, thinner voicing than Slash's tube Marshalls. I pushed mid to 8 (vs original's ~6-7) to compensate for the GA-10's inherent scoop and lack of tube warmth. Treble dropped to 5 because your HSS Strat's single-coil neck pickup is brighter and lower output than Slash's Les Paul humbuckers — this prevents ice-pick harshness. The amp lacks presence control, so reverb at 4 adds the ambient depth heard on the recording. Without a pedal, this is the closest honest match, but the tone will lack sustain and harmonic bloom.

PRO TIPRoll your tone knob to 6 and pick directly over the neck pickup (not the soundhole area) with your pick angled slightly — this fattens the attack and mimics the compressed, vocal quality of Slash's Les Paul. For the solo sections, dig in harder with your picking hand; the dynamics are where this tone lives.
