Why these settings

The Fender Twin Reverb is a high-headroom, naturally mid-scooped clean platform that cannot produce Marshall Super Lead crunch on its own without pedals. We push the Twin's midrange control hard to 8 and roll back the high-shelf treble to 5 to tame glassiness and compensate for Fender's scooped voicing. Adding a British-voiced 'Marshall-in-a-box' distortion pedal in front is essential to reach Slash's saturated roar. Middle clean break: roll your guitar volume knob down to 5-6.

PRO TIPSlash used heavy 2.0mm Dunlop Tortex picks and struck aggressively near the bridge pickup to force sharp, percussive upper-mid transients out of lower-output PAF-style pickups.
