Why these settings

Billie Joe recorded with a high-output Seymour Duncan JB humbucker into modded Marshall Plexis. To compensate for the lower-output, brighter single-coil bridge pickup on the Squier Classic Vibe 60s Strat, the bass and mids are pushed higher to add body while shaving treble slightly to avoid ice-pick highs. The Fender GT7 amp model provides the full cascaded Marshall crunch without needing an external drive pedal.

PRO TIPBillie Joe's tone relies heavily on violent downstrokes and hitting the strings firmly right near the bridge for maximum percussive attack.
