Original used a hot humbucker (L-500XL) into a modded Plexi with gain/master at 10 o'clock. Your Squier's single-coil bridge is lower output and brighter, so gain goes from 3 to 4 to compensate, and mid is pushed to 7 (vs original's 5) to recreate that punchy midrange bark the Plexi naturally has. Treble dropped to 6 because single coils are already bright. Brown amp type on Katana nails the Plexi-style breakup character.

PRO TIPThe Dookie tone is 80% picking technique — use aggressive, consistent downstrokes with your pick angled slightly and hit the strings hard near the bridge. The 'distortion' you hear is Billie Joe's attack, not the amp's gain.
