RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The Fender Stage lacks the cascaded preamp gain of the modded Plexi. A TS-style pedal into a cleaner amp setting pushes the front end to approximate that crunch. Without this, you will not achieve the original's saturation character.
Your Fender Stage is scooped and clean-voiced vs the mid-forward, touch-sensitive Plexi. Pushed mid +2 from original's '5' to compensate for Fender's natural mid-cut. Dropped bass -1 and presence -1 to avoid boom and fizz. The original's crunch came from the Plexi's modded cascading gain stages—your amp cannot replicate this without a drive pedal. The single-coil bridge on your Player Strat is brighter and lower output than the L-500XL humbucker; tone knob rolled to 7 tames the ice-pick.
