RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for Gojira's tight palm-muted chugs; without it, the MG15R will have excessive noise at high gain and lose the percussive tightness
The MG15R's solid-state OD channel is brighter and less compressed than the Dual Rectifier's thick tube saturation. Push mids to 8 (vs original's 7) to compensate for the MG's inherent mid-scoop. Cut bass to 4 (vs original's 6) because the MG gets flubby in low frequencies at high gain. Zero the contour/presence — this amp gets fizzy fast and the Rectifier tone is dark and chunky, not sizzling.
