Why these settings

The Ibanez GA-20 is a 5-watt nylon-string classical/jazz amp—it has no distortion circuit whatsoever. Cranking its gain to 10 produces mild breakup at best. The Strat's single coils are also 180 degrees from Duplantier's high-output humbuckers. A dedicated metal distortion pedal is mandatory; the amp then serves purely as a clean power stage. I raised mids to 8 (vs Duplantier's 6) to compensate for the Strat's scooped single-coil voice and pulled treble to 6 to prevent ice-pick highs.

PRO TIPTune to D Standard (D-G-C-F-A-D) with a heavier string set (.011-.054 minimum) to match the original's low-end weight and string tension—'Silvera' is unplayable in standard tuning. Your Strat's 25.5" scale helps maintain clarity in drop tunings, but the tone knob at 7 tames the quacky highs that would otherwise fight the distortion pedal.
