Why these settings

Thorogood's Dual Showman is a clean, loud Fender platform — the grit came from the Fuzz Face. The Katana's Crunch channel approximates that pushed-Fender midrange; mid is boosted to 7 (original Fenders are scooped) to match his ES-125's hollow-body bark. Treble pulled to 6 because your Bullet's single coils are brighter than his P-90-loaded Gibson. The built-in '60s Fuzz emulates the BC108 silicon Fuzz Face.

PRO TIPThorogood digs in hard with a heavy pick and plays slightly behind the beat for that swampy shuffle feel — the tone is as much in the aggressive right-hand attack as the gear. For slide parts, raise your action or use a heavier glass slide to avoid fret buzz and get that singing sustain.
