Why these settings

The Katana 50 MkII runs on the Clean voice with low gain to act as a pedal platform, letting the DS-1 provide the core Guv'nor-style saturation without double-gain mud. The ceramic pickups on the Jackson JS32 are brighter and hotter than vintage PAFs, so the 4kHz/8kHz sliders on the MXR EQ and the guitar's tone knob are rolled down to replicate the warm, fluty neck tone. The TS808 stacks into the DS-1 to provide the mid-focus and infinite singing sustain Gary got from pushing the JTM45 prototype.

PRO TIPUse the fleshy pad of your picking hand fingers or pick close to the neck pickup while applying a wide, slow, continuous wrist vibrato to achieve that signature vocal, violin-like sustain on held notes.
