Why these settings

The Joyo DC-15 is a compact practice amp with only Gain, Tone/Treble, and Bass controls (no dedicated mid or presence knobs). To emulate Nate Mendel's driven Ampeg SVT growl, use the amp's Overdrive voice with moderate gain to avoid farting out on low notes. The Thunderbird's dual humbuckers have naturally thick low-mids, so favor the neck pickup with tone slightly back from 10 while keeping treble elevated on the amp to retain pick definition. Clean intro/verse switch: roll guitar volume down to 6 or switch to the Clean channel.

PRO TIPNate Mendel plays driving 16th notes using a heavy pick right between the neck and bridge pickups—anchor your wrist near the bridge and use rigid, consistent down-and-up pick attack to get the track's unmistakable percussive chug.
