The original is a fingerpicked Martin D-18 acoustic, so on the semi-hollow HB-335 we use the middle pickup position with the volume rolled back to 8 to reduce humbucker thickness and emulate an airy acoustic snap. We use the Spark's dedicated Acoustic amp profile with bass pulled back to 4 to prevent boomy low-end resonance and treble boosted to 7 to introduce acoustic string detail. A touch of the onboard studio compressor block provides the polished dynamic control heard on the Sound City recording.
