The Gould GGA-10 is an entry-level 10W practice amp with only Gain, Volume, Treble, and Bass controls along with an Overdrive push-button (mid, presence, and reverb knobs do not exist on this unit). Because the Squier Sonic Mustang single-coil pickups have less output and body than Trohman's humbuckers, Treble is capped at 7 to prevent piercing fizz while Bass is kept at 5 to stop the small speaker from farting out. Engaging the amp's built-in Overdrive switch with Gain at 7 gives the required saturated crunch without needing an external pedal.
