The GLX G-65R is a solid-state combo with a clean channel and overdrive channel featuring Bass, Middle, Treble, and spring Reverb (no presence knob). To simulate Petrucci's thick Mesa Boogie lead tone on a bright Telecaster single coil, use the overdrive channel at high gain, push the mids up, and roll treble and guitar tone back to prevent single-coil icepick. The GLX's built-in spring reverb must be dialed to 5 to approximate the wet, spacious studio ambience until an external delay pedal is added. For the acoustic/clean rhythm sections, switch to Channel 1 Clean with tone at 8.
