The Katana 50 MkII Clean voice provides the high-headroom foundation of the Valvestate 8100's solid-state clean channel. The Dean ML's humbuckers match Chuck's output well, but shifting to the neck pickup with the tone rolled off slightly rounds out the attack to replicate that lyrical, singing quality. We push the Katana mids to 6 to retain body without introducing preamp breakup.
