Why these settings

The Smiger TG-40 is set flat and clean to act strictly as a transparent power platform for the M-Vave Tank-G multi-effects unit. The Vox AC-style amp block and transparent overdrive block on the Tank-G recreate the class-A chime and chimey breakup of Tomlin's Matchless/Vox studio setup without harsh solid-state clipping. The Sc24 humbuckers provide substantial thickness, so middle pickup position and a slight treble lift on the modeler prevent the lower mids from muddying the delays.

PRO TIPDig in during the big chorus strumming for harmonic breakup, but pick lightly over the bridge pickup with fingers on verses to keep the dotted-eighth delay clear and articulate.
