Why these settings

The Mark IV is mid-forward with tight gain staging — your Rockville solid-state will be looser and brighter by nature. I pushed mids to 7 to capture that nasal Mark-series bark, kept treble conservative at 5 to avoid fizz, and raised bass to 6 because Pete runs his Mark IV bass surprisingly high for that Recto-adjacent low-end thump. Without the SansAmp GT2 pedal, you lose some harmonic saturation — rolling tone knob to 7 tames the ice-pick highs the Ibanez bridge humbucker can produce.

PRO TIPPete uses a loose, almost sloppy palm-mute technique on the low strings — don't choke the mutes too tight or you'll kill the trademark Chevelle 'chunk'; let the notes breathe slightly before damping.
