Why these settings

The original used EMG actives which are hotter and more compressed than your Epiphone's passive humbuckers — compensated by pushing gain +1 and using the built-in booster to tighten the attack. Brown channel on Katana approximates the 5150's tight midrange aggression. Mids at 7 to avoid the scooped digital trap; presence at 5 to prevent fizz.

PRO TIPPalm mute directly over the bridge pickup for maximum tightness — even 1cm toward the neck loosens the attack and loses that metalcore percussive chunk.
