Why these settings

The original SVT is a high-headroom bass amp designed to be pushed hard for grit. Your '59 Bassman is a lower-wattage tube amp that breaks up earlier and has a rounder, less aggressive midrange than an SVT. Push master volume to 7 to get natural tube compression. Mid raised to 7 compensates for the Bassman's softer mid presence vs the SVT's punchy 800Hz bark. Treble pulled back to 5 because the Bassman's treble is voiced higher and brighter than SVT's grinding top end.
