Why these settings

Your Slash Les Paul has Epiphone ProBuckers which are hotter and darker than DeLonge's Invader in the semi-hollow ES-333. Roll tone knob to 6 to tame high-end harshness, and keep gain at 3—any higher and you lose the glassy clean foundation the delays need. The Valvetronix AC30 model is the correct voicing; mid at 6 compensates for the Les Paul's natural mid-scoop vs a semi-hollow.

PRO TIPThe iconic palm-muted riff at 0:24 requires extremely light palm pressure—barely touching the strings near the bridge saddles—so the delay trails ring out clearly beneath each muted note. Too heavy and the delay turns to mush.
