01Boss ME-70 — OD/DS Section (OD-1 or Blues Driver model)

Select the OD-1 or BD (Blues Driver) algorithm. This is your primary gain source — the acoustic amp provides clean headroom only.

02Boss ME-70 — EQ Section

Engage the parametric or graphic EQ to carve the 'Marshall smile' — bass and treble up, mids scooped around 800Hz.

03Boss ME-70 — Preamp/Amp Modeling Section

If available, select the 'MS' or British stack model (Marshall voicing). Stack this AFTER the OD section for proper gain staging. If no amp modeling, skip this block entirely.

Why these settings

Your Labey LA35C is an acoustic amp — it has no preamp distortion, wide-range flat voicing, and hi-fi clean headroom. It cannot produce Marshall crunch on its own. ALL gain must come from the ME-70's overdrive and amp-modeling blocks. I've set the amp flat and clean (gain 0, EQ neutral-to-mild, reverb 0) so it amplifies the ME-70's dirt without coloring it. The ME-70's OD section replaces the Plexi's power-tube saturation; the EQ block carves the mid-scoop that a Plexi naturally has.

PRO TIPAngus's attack comes from stiff wrist-only downstrokes with the pick angled slightly so the edge scrapes the string — this adds harmonic 'sizzle' that no EQ setting can replicate. Keep your fretting hand loose and let the pick do the work.
