Why these settings

Your Strat's single-coil bridge pickup is brighter and lower-output than Malcolm's Filter'tron humbucker, so I dropped treble from 6 to 5 and raised mids from 5 to 6 to compensate for the Strat's natural scoop. Bass stays low at 2 (Malcolm ran his at 1) — this is intentional to get that dry, punchy rhythm sound. The Deviser Tg-10 is a practice amp without true power-amp saturation, so push gain to 6 to approximate the cranked Marshall edge-of-breakup grind.

PRO TIPMalcolm's secret was palm-muting pressure — he muted harder than most players, which gave his eighth-note chug that percussive, almost staccato attack. Keep your picking hand anchored firmly on the bridge and strike downstrokes only, dead center between bridge and neck pickup.
